George MacDonald (1824–1905) was a Scottish author, poet, and clergyman. Recognized particularly for his work with fairy tales and fantasy novels, MacDonald inspired and influenced such literary masters as G. K. Chesterton, C. S. Lewis, and E. Nesbit.
